Google’s Charleston East campus, an extension of its neighboring GooglePlex headquarters, is the focal point for a massive mixed-use development that will include high-density housing along with retail and restaurants; and the Bay View campus, which is an office and R&D project going up on NASA-owned land on the northern edge of Moffett Field.
Combined, the buildings will bring more than 1 million square feet of office and R&D space to this portion of Silicon Valley and solidify Google parent company, Alphabet Inc., as both a dominant employer and landlord.
The projects use a multitiered canopy system that resemble a series of tents. The roof will capture water for reuse and hold solar panels that will create about four megawatts of power.
The skills and craftsmanship of SME Steel are prominently displayed throughout this project.
