Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center PROVO, UTAH

SME Industries

The Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center utilized castellated beams for the 60ʹ long span areas of the structure to allow passage of duct work and for less vibration on the floors. Twelve dormers create a complex hip and valley roof with the lateral load supported on the third floor level. CoreBrace™ buckling restrained braces were incorporated to protect the building and its contents against high seismic activity. The clock tower majestically stands at an incredible 196ʹ and complements the structure. SME Steel’s expertise allowed this project to be completed on time and under budget.
