Apple Park CUP CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA

SME Industries

New Construction of the Apple Park 2 Central Utility Plant (CUP) includes 15kva Generators, Fuel Cell Energy Storage Yard, PV system, and PG&E power. All mechanical equipment with is 480volt. The project has a Microgrid Data Acquisition and Control System capable of island mode to keep the campus fully functional without PG&E power.

The project is an integrated design and environmentally friendly development that exceeds social and economic sustainability goals. The development incorporates strategies to reduce water and energy consumption as the campus generates most of its electricity requirements through its onsite natural gas-powered, central power plant.

The power plant is a 75,000ft2 single-story structure which reduces Apple Park’s dependence on the city’s electric grid.

The skills and craftsmanship of SME Steel are prominent throughout this project.
