Structural Steel Supporting a LEED Silver Hospital Campus
Utah Valley Hospital is a 12-story patient tower, 9-story outpatient building that combine to create a high-quality hospital campus which also includes a connecting pedestrian bridge. This is one of the most technologically advanced and modern hospitals in the country. Building enhancements include 234 patient rooms, larger and better-designed emergency department, new surgical and interventional space, and an imaging and clinical evaluation unit. An impressive 237 steel columns were drilled 32 feet into the ground to support the towers. The pedestrian bridge was carefully installed at night to ensure no interruption of services. Due to SME expertise, ingenuity, and superior craftsmanship, this project was completed on time and within budget. LEED Silver accreditation.
