Structural Steel Supporting a State-of-the-Art Hospital Expansion

San Jose Regional Medical Center is a state-of-the-art, 138,000-square-foot patient tower and 24,000 square feet of renovations. The new expansion includes 32 medical/surgical beds, 32 post-partum beds, 26 bassinet newborn nursery beds, eight-bed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and a central utility plant. Building enhancements include cath lab expansion, endoscopy and recovery expansion, surgery expansion including three operating rooms, ICU expansion, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) expansion increasing Level II capacity from six to ten beds, emergency department expansion, renovated operating rooms, new breast care center, dialysis area, and miscellaneous support services. Due to SME expertise, ingenuity, and superior craftsmanship, this project was completed on time and within budget.
