Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital Plaza Tower

Delivering Vertical Acute Care Expansion Without Interrupting Surgical Operations

Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital Plaza Tower is an impressive 500-bed, full service, acute care hospital. This structure is located between two existing buildings, adjacent to the existing Emergency Department, and includes replacement of the Hospital’s Surgery Department (which remained fully functional until the opening of the replacement facility). Above the new Surgery on the lower level are two floors of Critical Care beds and two floors of Medical/Surgical beds. Building enhancements include cath labs, dedicated elevators for Critical Care patients, additional 48 Critical Care beds and 64 Surgery beds as well as special labs and radiology consolidation – blurring the lines between interventional radiology and surgery. Due to SME expertise, ingenuity, and superior craftsmanship, this project was completed on time and within budget. Energy Star Certification.
