Oracle Park

San Francisco Giants Oracle Park is a thirteen-acre site featuring a state-of-the-art stadium with 41,000 seats including 68 luxury suites. SME provided value engineering to the design team which resulted in significant cost and time savings to the owner. For example, Raker trusses were originally designed with a bolted connection which required unusually heavy steel construction. SME presented a welded design alternate to eliminate the need for bolts and allowed for lighter steel trusses. The stadium design also incorporates many complex and unique sizes of steel members which SME specializes in fabricating. Of special note, hundreds of unusually large Dywidag anchor bars ranging from eight to ten feet in length run through the foundation and into the wall system. This is a fast-track project for which SME is uniquely experienced to accomplish.
