Banc of California Stadium

Banc of California Stadium, home of Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), is a soccer-specific stadium and host for the 2028 Summer Olympics. The focal point of this structure is a 190,000 square foot roof canopy (complex geometrical rolled pipe, multi-beveled connection) which creates the backbone of this architectural masterpiece and encompasses five concourse levels, 35 box suites, terrace balcony, and 100,000 square feet of multipurpose space that is purposely shaped to retain the roar of the crowd. Built-up canopy members measure up to 120΄ in length and received a specialty multi-coat system. During the design assist process, stability of the rolled pipe members during fabrication was questioned which led to new cradles designed by our team and eliminated rollover risk — a serious safety concern. SME Steel was pleased to deliver this labyrinthine project on time and with ZERO lost time injuries.
