Precision Structural Steel Delivery in One of the World’s Busiest Airports

SME Steel played a key role in the transformation of Los Angeles International Airport’s Terminals 2 and 3, collectively known as the Delta Sky Way at LAX. This multi-year, multi-phase aviation modernization project required complex structural steel fabrication and expert steel erection within one of the busiest airports in the world. Working in active terminals with tight security, restricted access, and nonstop passenger traffic, SME Steel supported the delivery of major structural elements that helped redefine the passenger experience for Delta Air Lines at LAX.

From large-span structural steel to intricate support systems, SME Steel’s experienced fabrication and erection teams delivered the strength and precision required for the LAX T2/3 Delta Sky Way project. Our ability to coordinate closely with contractors and engineers, while executing safely and efficiently in an active airport environment, made SME Steel a trusted steel partner on this landmark infrastructure upgrade. The successful completion of the Delta Sky Way stands as a testament to SME Steel’s capability to perform on high-profile, schedule-critical transportation projects.
