A big thank you to HENSEL PHELPS for the Virtual Wine Tasting Event last night, benefitting the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge. The wines were smooth and lovely to taste – definite additions to the wines we will be enjoying for years to come.

It was nice to get an overall snapshot of the charity this event supports and see the impressive impacts being made. Thank you, again, for inviting us to participate.

Seems like an event this HR employee and his wife would have loved to be at. 🥂

We are pleased to be part of this project that will assist in improving lives. We and our trade partners continue to make strong progress at the Primary Children's Hospital Lehi Campus, which broke ground in November!

"Building and coordinating a project of this size is always an enjoyable challenge and keeps us all on our toes," said Project Manager Gary Krutsch. "The most rewarding aspect of the project is working so closely with Intermountain Healthcare, a client that really lives by its philosophy of ‘The Child First and Always.’"

#ThrowbackThursday
Apple Campus CUP CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA
New Construction of the Apple Campus 2 Central Utility Plant (CUP) includes 15kva Generators, Fuel Cell Energy Storage Yard, PV system, and PG&E power. All mechanical equipment with is 480volt. The project has a Microgrid Data Acquisition and Control System capable of island mode to keep the campus fully functional without PG&E power.

The project is an integrated design and environmentally friendly development that exceeds social and economic sustainability goals. The development incorporates strategies to reduce water and energy consumption as the campus generates most of its electricity requirements through its onsite natural gas-powered, central power plant.

The power plant is a 75,000ft2 single-story structure which reduces Apple Park’s dependence on the city’s electric grid.

The skills and craftsmanship of SME Steel are prominent throughout this project.

Horton Plaza covers 6.5 city blocks in downtown San Diego California. Previously a five-level shopping center, and now it is being converted into a major life science campus. With the onset of the global pandemic, there is a substantial increase in demand for life science and biotechnology office space and this project has been dubbed one of the largest, adaptive, reuse and urban tech campuses in the Western United States.

Thank you to Reliable Crane for the video!
